The Kansas State Board of Mortuary Arts (KSBMA) is accepting applications for the position of Executive Secretary to the Board. Salary will be determined based on experience with a tentative starting date in May of 2020 (the exact start date to be determined.)
Preferences include: five (5) years of experience as a Kansas licensed embalmer and funeral director and be currently licensed as such; computer skills and experience using the following software– Word/WordPerfect, Excel, Access, and Adobe Acrobat Reader with an ability to learn the different software programs specific to the State of Kansas where training will be provided. A valid driver’s license is required. Must be patient and willing and able to learn and lead a small/hard working administrative staff on a daily basis and to listen/ communicate well with staff, board members, attorneys and the general public. This position communicates with a wide range of individuals, including: licensees, consumers, legislators/elected officials and other state agencies–to list just a few. Public speaking is also a part of this position.
Duties also include coordinating Board meetings, committee meetings, administering examinations and working with both attorneys assigned to the Board by the Kansas Attorney General’s Office.
